✔️ Sarvam AI Chosen for India’s Foundation Model
As part of its ambitious IndiaAI initiative, the Government of India has officially selected Sarvam AI to develop the country’s first sovereign Large Language Model (LLM). This will be India’s own foundational AI model—created entirely within the country, tailored for local languages, and designed for scalable, secure deployment.
In a first-of-its-kind move, Sarvam will receive dedicated computing infrastructure to build this model from scratch—an effort rooted in self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) and long-term strategic autonomy in AI.

📢 Wikipedia plans to use AI
Wikipedia is bringing AI into its platform, but not to replace people. Over the next three years, it will use AI to simplify editing, improve language support, and guide new contributors.
AI will handle repetitive tasks, while humans will continue making key editorial decisions. The focus remains on open-source tech, transparency, and keeping Wikipedia community-driven.

🧠 AI Word of the Day: "Zero-shot Learning"
Zero-shot learning is when an AI model performs a task without being specifically trained on it - just by understanding instructions or using its general knowledge.
Example:
You ask: "Summarize this legal contract."
Even if the model wasn’t trained on legal summaries, it can still do it - thanks to zero-shot learning.
That’s all for today!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s newsletter edition.
